For those of you who may not know, my dad and Addie's Poppy passed away last Sunday. We are so very grateful for the short time that she had with him. Dad had been sick for four and half years with cancer. He was a trooper and fought so hard for all of us. We kept giving him milestones to fight toward and the last one was Addie's birth. After her delivery, he seemed to just get worse.
After speaking with one of friends who lost her grandfather at a young age, she told me that her and her sister had heard so many stories of her grandfather that it was like they knew him. They also missed him so much and had barely known him. These are the kind of feelings that I hope to instill in Addie about Dad.
My cousin Tammy made this slide show about Dad and I stole it from her myspace.

I am honored that you "stole" my slideshow. I know Rick is looking down on all of us right now and wondering why we are making such a big deal about him. I know especially he is looking down and Miss Addie and knowing one day he will hold her and walk and play with her like never before. I am glad to hear you will instill many memories of him to Addie. And you know all of us are going to do the same. I love you!
I'm sorry about your poppy!
Andrea and Tammy you both did a great job and it is such an appropriate tribute to a great guy. Oh sure we all have our moments but the one thing that you could always tell by looking at Rick was how much he loved his family and how much he adored You(ANDEA). The next time I see you remind me to tell you about an answer he made to one of the Queen things I attended when you were in high school. Love Karen
I should have previewed the above comment. I do know how to spell Andrea. I hope you have editing powers. Love Karen
