We celebrated Jeremy's dad's birthday on Wednesday, August 15th. Pop Yates turned the big 51. We went to Fort Smith and ate dinner at Logan's with Don, Becky and Grandmother. Of course we needed dessert so we went to the Marble Slab for some ice cream.
Next door to the Marble Slab is a new children's shoe store that also sells some toy items. When we got out of the car, Don said "hey look at the big giraffe in the window." And there it was - a 4 foot tall stuffed giraffe!!
I made the remark about how I had a 4 foot tall giraffe in my room when I was a baby. Jeremy and I continued to window shop and went into the Marble Slab followed by Becky and Grandmother. In the meantime, the shop owner comes out to speak with Don about the 4 foot tall giraffe.
When we came outside to eat our ice cream at our table, there was the giraffe sitting next to Don!! Addie's very own 4 foot tall giraffe just like mine. If a child can convince her grandpa to buy her a huge giraffe and she is not even here yet, we are wondering what kind of stuff she is going to convince him to buy her when she is actually here!!!

Adalyn, I think it is great that you have a giraffe just like your mom's, that is when she was a baby. Maybe the giraffe will be a theme for your room, if mom and dad does not already have one picked out, but in any event, I know you will love your 4 foot tall Giraffe and will look good in your room of that beautiful black furniture. And I do like the "green" walls, altho I am not sure of the exact color. LOL
Just noticed I spelled your name ALL wrong, so from now on will just call you Addie if that is alright with mom and dad........
Sorry!!
Addie, Rickey and Randy G and I were at the AR State Fair and your Grandpa Rickey won the giraffe that we had in your mama's nursery. I think he won it by throwing ring toss or maybe softballs in the milk can? We had to carry it around all night! And then uncle Randy had to ride in the back seat with it all the way home to Hot Springs!
Maybe it was the Kansas State fair, I'm getting old and that was a long time ago...oh well!
