Celebrating Firsts

As we celebrate all of these firsts with Addie, we have such happiness but also sadness. We have had Easter, Spring Break and now the NCAA basketball tournament. Yes, Addie loves to watch basketball. We also celebrate these things without Poppy. Who knew that someone could cry over their basketball bracket or their girl scout cookies?

The NCAA basketball bracket is a memory that Dad and I have shared since I was about 9. Also, he loved his Samoa girl scout cookies. I couldn't wait for them to come. Then when they did I didn't want to eat them. These are just a few of the firsts with Addie and without Poppy.

She is my strength and I am so happy to have her here to help heal our hearts!

Next time call me I want some of your girl scout cookies. I like those too! These may be firsts without Poppy, but we all know he's getting a big kick out of seeing what a beautiful baby she's turning into. Just keep his memory alive thru her. That in itself is such an honor to him.

Addy,

How I wish your poppy was here to watch you grow! (He has to watch from heaven.) .......

Andrea,
I do pretty good most of the time, but, your words made me break down and cry. How I miss Rick!! There was something so special about him and I miss it so......
